Dance Group Etnica & Bolly Beat Dance School

Dance Group Etnica

Dance School Etnica and Dance Group Etnica are founded by Mikaela Jokinen, a freelance dancer, dance teacher and choreographer from Helsinki. The dance group is very active, performing weekly in different shows and competitions. Etnicas aim is to increase the popularity of ethnic dances, such as Bollywood, Oriental Dance and Latin dances in Finland. The group has won several competitions, such as Ourvision goes Dancing in 2010.

Spectacular India! – concept is based on Mikaelas idea and is the first of its kind in Finland, bringing all Indian dance styles, schools, teachers and dancers together.

Bolly Beat Dance School

ICCDSF ry is a Helsinki based association. Bolly Beat Dance School and the performing group Bolly Beat dancers both function as parts of this association. 

Bolly Beat Dance School offers high-quality instruction in the widest variety of Indian dance styles in Finland (since 2008). The school offers classes to both beginner and more advanced level students in the colourful Bollywood dance, Bhangra, as well as in Indian classical dance forms. 

Bolly Beat Dancers spreads the joy of dancing by performing in various different cultural events, parties and dance shows around the Helsinki area. This professional dance group performs Bollywood as well as Kollywood dance, the folk dance Bhangra, and the classical dances Kathak and Bharatanatyam. Bolly Beat Dancers are known for their vivacious, colourful, seductive and tongue-in-cheek performances.

ABOUT QUINCY CHARLES
Quincy Charles is a charismatic and captivating performer whose love and passion for Kathak as well as his brilliant technique has won the hearts of audiences on three continents: He started his Kathak training in his native Trinidad, followed by the UK and later in India, where he completed both his diploma honours and post diploma courses with first class honours as a twice over I.C.C.R. Scholar, under the guidance of Lucknow Gharana Guru Pundit Jai Kishan Maharaj at the prestigious Kathak Kendra (University of Kathak) New Delhi India, thereafter Jaipur Gharana under the guidance of the illustrious Guru Prerana Shrimali. He is an experienced performer and teacher and has conducted international workshops and participated in many festivals in India as well as in Europe and the West Indies.

As the artistic director of Ganapathi Tapasya Kalaa Shaalaa it is Quincy's vision that music and dance through the medium of this organisation play a central role in the well-being and harmony of society.
